Wedding Ceremony Decorations: Ideas and Resources

Wedding ceremony decorations can range from easy and affordable to intricate and expensive, depending on your budget and style. Your decorations should compliment your overall wedding theme. Here are some tips for choosing the perfect ceremony decorations:

1. Consider your ceremony location. Wedding ceremonies can take place in a variety of locations these days, from the traditional church, to a garden, to the beach. Work with your location, not against it! Don't try to turn your church into a hotel ballroom and definitely don't try to turn your hotel ballroom into a beach!

2. Next, ask yourselves what style and mood you are trying to achieve with your wedding ceremony. Are you going for casual and laid-back, trendy and sophisticated, traditional, religious, romantic, or a little of each? Maybe you are going for elegance with a garden wedding complete or maybe you want to create a contemporary feel in a trendy hotel ballroom.

3. Always keep your budget in mind. With all of the celebrity and "platinum" weddings featured on television shows and in magazines, it is easy to get carried away. The truth is, the average couple cannot afford thousands of flowers to decorate their wedding ceremony, so it is important to focus on decorations that will be budget-friendly but create a lot of visual impact.

4. Additional considerations for wedding ceremony decorations:• Color Scheme• Available Space• Number of Guests• Time of Year• Time of Day• Family Traditions

5. It is a good idea to take several photographs of the site to reference as you choose your decorations.

Keep in mind that locations that are already very festive or decorative may require less, or even no wedding decorations at all! To save money, have friends or relatives transport your ceremony decorations such as flowers, pew bows, or candelabras to your reception site.
