Popular wedding ceremony songs include those that have been popular for generations and those that have only recently gained popularity.
The following is a current list of the top 10 most popular ceremony songs over the past two years (2007-present) from my experience as a wedding coordinator, not in any particular order.
Wedding March
The famous recessional piece written by Felix Mendelssohn for Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
Here Comes The Bride
Also called the “Bridal Chorus,” this famous processional piece is commonly played on an organ.
Canon in D
The most requested wedding ceremony song - has been featured several celebrity weddings, as well as the hit movie “Father of the Bride.”
The Wedding Song
Also called There Is Love, The Wedding Song was recorded in 1971 by Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary. This song sounds beautiful played on both guitar and piano, and even better with a soloist.
